What are the costs of a Solar plant?
The sun is an inexhaustible source of energy that generates enormous amounts of energy. And it costs nothing. This is good news for the time being, because as soon as the investment costs have paid off, you get electricity for free.
How high the costs for your solar system are in the end is therefore a question of the time of amortization. The answer now depends mainly on the investment costs, but also on the
from the development of electricity prices
how much electricity I use myself
from the electricity yield of the solar modules
from the use of a solar storage system
Which Solar plant suits me best?
The question that every prospective buyer asks themselves: How big should my solar system be in order to work economically – and not exceed my budget? First of all, it is always advisable to make the system a little larger.
These are the criteria that influence the dimensioning of the system:
The electricity requirements of the household are relevant for the dimensioning of a solar system. The average consumption of a single household is 1,500kW/year.
Now that you know the approximate maximum output of the solar system, the available roof area is crucial for a realistic design of the system.
The selection of solar modules is another factor in the dimensioning of the system. There are now a whole range of types and designs for the production of modules.
Do you want to achieve a high degree of self-sufficiency, i.e. use as much of the solar power you produce yourself as possible?

5 Answer on the most important questions
A solar system is financially worthwhile for you if it recoups its purchase costs within less than 20 years. If you have a suitable, sunny roof facing south, west or east and a high electricity consumption, then a solar system can be worthwhile for you.
If you do not have a roof with the above orientation or it is very shaded and your electricity consumption is rather low, a solar system will probably not be worthwhile from a financial point of view. Of course, a solar system is always worthwhile from an environmental point of view.
The advantage of renting a solar system is that you do not have to worry about financing, installing, maintaining, repairing or insuring the solar system. In return, the providers charge oft hohe Mietkosten, which after a fixed rental period (usually 20 years) are usually higher than with a purchased solar system. And even as a tenant, you remain the operator of the system and have many legal and tax obligations to fulfill.
Most households should aim for as much self-consumption as possible. Electricity from the grid often costs between 30 and 40 cents per kWh, whereas electricity from your own solar system only costs between 10 and 16 cents per kWh. Excess electricity that is fed into the grid is currently remunerated at 8.2 cents per kWh. Under certain circumstances, however, it is worthwhile to feed all of the electricity into the grid (full feed-in), as this can earn you up to 13 cents per kWh.
With an electricity storage system, the self-consumption rate can be doubled. A solar system with an electricity storage system then often covers 60 to 70 percent of the total electricity requirement. Electricity storage systems currently cost around €500 per kWh of storage capacity, subject to possible price increases in raw material costs and depending on the manufacturer.
